Foorever
I was thinking of buying the Panasonic AG-DVX100A. When I Froogle it (Google) I find 2 places that have it for $1,629. Does anyone here have expirence with either of these two stores? It's says the item is brand new. Thanks you. I was also wondering how the DVX100a would do in a horror genere? http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=Panaso...ial&sa=N&tab=wf
Chance Shirley
Not familiar with either of the dealers you asked about, but I'm pretty sure the DVX100 is a popular camera with low-budget horror filmmakers these days.
Shawn Murphy
I highly doubt it. You know the saying, "If it's too good to be true, it is" Check this thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/showthread.php?t=12271 I apparently bought mine from a NON-authorized dealer, however, the price was good and the service was good (whether or not that affects the warranty remains to be seen, but I have confidence that Panasonic will honor any warranty issues, and Profeel guaranteed it in writing). Also, read some online merchant review pages like this: http://www.resellerratings.com/
Guest LondonFilmMan
Foorever: A Panasonic AG-DVX100A for (a minimum of) $1,629.....great! I couldn't really answer your question, but wouldn't mind getting hold of one of these myself. I believe the quality is great.
Premium Member Greg Gross Posted February 2, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted February 2, 2006 I can give you a reputable source that I have been dealing with for many years, have never had a problem. They are pretty good also with trade-ins if you have a trade-in to bargain with. B&H Photo 420 Ninth Ave. New York,NY 10001 1-800-947-1175(video dept.) Premium Member Greg Gross Posted February 3, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted February 3, 2006 Why don't you rent a DVX-100A and try it out for a day? Also if you have a Panasonic dealer near where you live, they may let you shoot with a demo for several hours. I have a large vid- eo supply house only about five blocks from my home/studio and they left me shoot with a DVX- 100 when they first came out. Trouble is I can buy all my video equipment(not gray market) from B&H Photo, cheaper than I can from the Panasonic Dealer. Greg Gross
