Suggestion for a boom microphone

Can the accumulated wisdom of the forum give me some suggestions for a microphone to be used on a boom pole. Usually small to medium rooms with two people taking. Natural sound. The contemporary equiv of the Senn 814

Try a Sennheiser MKH-60 or MKH-416. I actually find myself using the MKH-50 for most everyday stuff. It's not as directional, but has good-enough rejection while being somewhat forgiving if you're not perfectly on-axis, and sounds great on VOs too when having matching sound is helpful.

the only problem with them is that they cost 1000 dollars+!

I have an MKH-60 and love it. You're right - it is also great for V.O. :)
