mini 35mm / 16mm lens adapters.

I am shooting a short on a Sony HDR-FX1 and am looking to rent a a mini 35mm or mini 16mm lens adapter with a set of either 35mm primes or 16mm primes (depending on which lens adapter i get). Any suggestions? My budget is shy, so i would prefer to rent 16mm equipment, however, i am not familure with the visual range from/between 16mm and 35mm glass shot in digital HD. I do not have a lot of experiance with lens adapters, but for this project, I really need the range of a good set of primes. If anyone has any knowledge or prior insight with lens adapters, please respond. Thank you.
