  1. Shooting a S16 short and considering renting the Cooke Zoom 9-50mm T2.5 Lens, but have never worked with it. I have access to a Canon 8-64mm, however, the film's aesthetic lends itself to late 1960s, early 1970s new Hollywood (i.e. "Harold and Maude," "Five Easy Pieces," etc.), so i am considering renting the lens to try to get a more diffused ("aged?") look. Anyone ever work with this lens? Perks? Faults? Thanks.
  2. what is the key technical difference between super 8mm and double super 8mm film (besides the different stocks made available on each)?
  3. my post is above. i am shooting a short on an HDR-FX1 in April. I too am looking at primes for a PL 35mm adapter (that are cheap). have you researched digiPrimes though? i've been researching and found that the excess glass from the prime lenses with the the lense on the camera has a tendency to require an opening up of f2 and f2.8 just to get a proper reading (this is news to me though). if you have done research on digiPrimes, i'd love to hear. soon i am hoping to do a test on both formats, but if you've any knowledge or news, i'd love to hear any. right now i'm just trying to look everywhere for info., etc. hope to hear. - chris (e-mail: cyrichmond@gmail.com)
  4. I am shooting a short on a Sony HDR-FX1 and am looking to rent a a mini 35mm or mini 16mm lens adapter with a set of either 35mm primes or 16mm primes (depending on which lens adapter i get). Any suggestions? My budget is shy, so i would prefer to rent 16mm equipment, however, i am not familure with the visual range from/between 16mm and 35mm glass shot in digital HD. I do not have a lot of experiance with lens adapters, but for this project, I really need the range of a good set of primes. If anyone has any knowledge or prior insight with lens adapters, please respond. Thank you.
