Rodney Pellegrini
I've recently aquired a nice, working, 1920's Bell & Howell filmo 70, and would like to shoot some footage with it. To my surprise when I tried loading it last night, unlike the 40's filmos it will not shoot single perf. film! So I'm on a quest for affordable, B&W 16mm, double perf. stock. Does anyone here have any ideas? Rod

For the ones that have smaller sales volumes, some may be "Finish to Order".

If you don't mind using an "off Brand" The last time I checked J and C Photo had doubble perf FOMA (czech) R-100 Black and white reversal in both single and double perf. The Film can ONLY be processed as reversal. http://jandcphoto.com/index.asp?PageAction...ATS&Category=30 Hey look at that, they have Kodak Super 8 Plus x there too! http://jandcphoto.com/index.asp?PageAction...PROD&ProdID=104 is the Double perf Foma. The other place I have got some "old" plux x double perf is http://www.athens.net/~macjava/ But his stock is OLD, I was surprised when I decoded the date code just how old. He does keep it frozen, and such a slow film is not as affected by other factors as high speed stuff. YMMV
Evan Kubota
Plus-X 7265 is available in double-perf. Has to be shipped from a Colorado warehouse and they only seemed to have two in stock each time I ordered (got 4 for a project). I recommend taking it apart and removing the second claw and row of teeth. Takes no more than an hour and you won't be cripped by double-perf. K Borowski
Hijacking the thread a little bit here: I've been looking for 1200 foot loads of 16mm, either double or single perf. I have an Auricon with 1200-foot magazines, and it seems absurd that I am always using these gigantic mags with only 400-foot loads. Does anyone know if either Kodak or Fuji makes or will make any of their stocks in this length? I have seen only one stock (forget which) on the Kodak site, and for some reason it is available only in single-perf. Regards. ~Karl Borowski

I called them, and they found some double perf. film for me that only came in 400', but for an extra flat lab fee ($10) they said they'd put it into 100' spools for me. Perhaps they could work with you and splice together a 1200 foot magazine from their smaller footage loads? That is if they don't have the larger load (I haven't looked, and for all I know they might offer the 1200' mag). It may be worth a look or call.
