Jarin Blaschke
I'm planning scene with very hot back/side sunlight that I'd like to halate slightly. For extra contrast, I'm shooting 5245 with +1 processing, rated at 40. I'm aiming for +8 incident on the direct sunlight. Environment and costume is of a mid tone. Costume could be made lighter. The scene is uncasted so I don't yet know the two girl's haircolor. Which filter would halate the highlights a bit without mucking up the shadows or looking -too- diffused? A light fog filter? Mitch Gross
I'd go for a light ProMist.
Sam Wells
I think the fog filter would work a bit against the hi contrast deep black look your rating and processing suggest you're after, so Mitch's suggestion is a good one. I always push 45 one stop, but I rate at 80, geez, now I feel conservative for once  -Sam
