Filming a dinner party/massacre

Recommended Posts

This saturday i have to film a dinner party/ massacre scene for my film.

The room is about 5 meters by 12. I will be shooting in during the day even though its supposed to be the night...

im shooting it on reversal too.. cus i think the new negative Vision2 is too nice and boring.

im thinking 7250.. Whats the best way to light this sort of thing? Would i be able to light with just practical lights or would i really need some 800w red heads??

any help would help..

I don't think anyone can really answer that for you. It all depends on what the scene, and story are. The best way to light it is one that is most appropriate for the story. I will tell you this though, unless you have some carefully positioned practicals, i wouldn't suggest just using practicals.

Will you see any windows in your shots? If it's a night scene, what's your motivating light source(s)? Is this a horror or a comedy?

Red heads are a blast (no pun intended) and are most effectively used when bounced or punched through a big diffusion fram but be carefull what you bounce them off of, they melt stuff, trust me.
