2 FPS with Arri S ?

Hi,

I have used the Arri 16S to shoot some really low frame rate timelapse type shots, but the variable speed motor becomes very unpredictable at the very slow end of its range. At very slow rates it seems to waver quite a bit and this affects the exposure, (especially since even a 1FPS shift could mean 30% of the exposure time at these speeds)

I'm wondering if there is a motor out there that is specific for shooting timelapse or low frame rates. (I have another motor that does 24FPS only, is it possible to find one that does 2, 3, or 4FPS only?)

Perhaps there's a way to rig a seperate motor and gear system to the manual inching dial on the back of the motor?

anyways, just a shot in the dark,

thanks,

Bryant

Well, I found a motor that will do this type of thing if anyone is interested. It's called the 'Arri S Norris Time Lapse Intervolometer' and fits right into the motor slot and has a remote to control its settings. Costs about $3000 though. There seems to be less expensive speed controls for more modern cameras.
