Steve Ford
Hi folks I am going to be video taping a red animated LED sign coming up and was wondering what settings I should set on the camera to avoid both the flicker cycling and also the red smear? Any help would be appreciated Steve
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted June 8, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted June 8, 2006 I wouldn't worry about any red smear. Just set your exposure so that it looks good. If it's still too contrasty for your taste you could lower the knee point and slope, or just switch to a "cine" or "filmlike" gamma setting. If there's flicker, use the camera's Synchroscan to dial in a frequency that matches. But it shouldn't flicker, most displays like this cycle with the power supply at 60Hz. which is safe for both 24P and 60i.
