Working Practice in NEw Zealand

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys !

I'm a French Gaffer and Best boy based in Paris.

I'm actually thinking to move to New Zealand in 2007 to get some work experience out there.

I'm wondering if an Electrician need a Truck Driving Licence to work easily in the film industry as it is in France.

I mean, in France, Electrician need the Truck Drinving Licence because most of the time they have to drive trucks to bring the equipement on the set. I was wondering if it was the same in NZ or if the production usually employed special drivers for this task ?

If anyone have an answer or some informations about the buisness in NZ, let me know.

I believe getting work in New Zeeland is really tough. The last time I worked as a cinematographer there they required a very specific work permit which ended the day I finished filming.
