super 8 camera gate widening?

I have read a few things on this, I have a few questions for anyone that would know or point me to a good source.

 

If the cameras gate is widened to take advantage of the whole frame would most transfer houses even see the extra space used on the film frame when its transferred? if not is there a place that might handle this specifically?

 

also, does anyone know of a place that handles this camera mod that is reputable? anyone done this to a camera?

I am one of the people behind the wide-gate feature Sleep Always, so some may say I am not impartial, but I can say a few things:

Reputable place to do the mod: mitchsperkins@yahoo.com. He's done dozens.

Transfer houses: again Mitch Perkins. He does negative and reversal. Others may have other transfer suggestions. Many facilities will proably not be able to get the extra image area.
