Thibaut de Chemellier
Exept weight, size, aperture and focal limitations would it be interesting to shoot with a "monster zoom" like the Cooke Varotal 25-250mm T3.9 MKII. There's nothing better than real film test with color chart and everything but what can I expect ??? Will it be too soft for 35mm blow up? It's for a B&W short in exterior daylight with Plus-X negative stock If I shoot wide angles with High Speed Zeiss primes, will it matched ? I would say yes... Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted July 17, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted July 17, 2006 The Cooke really is not the sharpest lens out there, but at least shooting in daylight works in your favour. Also the fact that 25mm is already a normal/longish lens in S16mm and the more you zoom in, the closer your shots will be (arguably), so if you use the lens mostly for close-ups and such, the difference shouldn't be to jarring. But on the other hand I'd use the primes as much as possible and if need be would try to get a proper telephoto lens. The long end of the Cooke is not as good as a good telephoto lens. Hi, Make sure you use a proper bridge plate etc, I would not want you to rip the mount from the S16 camera. Stephen
