Shooting S-16 with Cooke Varotal T3.9 25-250mm...

Exept weight, size, aperture and focal limitations would it be interesting to shoot with a "monster zoom" like the Cooke Varotal 25-250mm T3.9 MKII.

There's nothing better than real film test with color chart and everything but what can I expect ???

Will it be too soft for 35mm blow up?

It's for a B&W short in exterior daylight with Plus-X negative stock

If I shoot wide angles with High Speed Zeiss primes, will it matched ? I would say yes...

The Cooke really is not the sharpest lens out there, but at least shooting in daylight works in your favour. Also the fact that 25mm is already a normal/longish lens in S16mm and the more you zoom in, the closer your shots will be (arguably), so if you use the lens mostly for close-ups and such, the difference shouldn't be to jarring. But on the other hand I'd use the primes as much as possible and if need be would try to get a proper telephoto lens. The long end of the Cooke is not as good as a good telephoto lens.
