Guest martin levent
Hi everybody i'm gonna to shoot a short movie in S16 and i got few questions ! first i have a ARRI SR2 , we're shooting at 24 fps and 172°8 shutteter angle. We're going to shoot on stage with HMI lights a TV screen ( HMI are not flickerfree). I'm wondering if at 25 FPS / 172°8 with a synchro box TV (the one for ARRI III) i will have a problem with the sweep! Thanks you for yours answers friendly MARTIN
Jon Kukla
The ugly black bar *should* in theory be gone with the sync box, but it might be worth testing it first. Don't forget that since you're only seeing the image when the film isn't, clearing it from the ground glass image will not necessarily clear it from the film image, and vice versa. Shutter-wise, 25 fps in a 50 Hz country, you should be fine at all angles for that shot, so go ahead and leave it at 172.8 degrees.
