Ashim
I have been reading manuals of various digital cameras and one point where I come to a grinding hault is when the Sensitivity is mentioned. For instance, f/11 @ 2000 lux (3200K, 89.9% reflectance) Now why are digital cameras rated in this manner and why is 89.9% reflectance mentioned, is it bec. digital sensors are rated according to white card or what??? Kindlu help me figure this out. I have posted this query earlier in other forums but unfortunately got no response from the community. I am sanguine abt success this time. Thank You. Hi, So the camera seems 2 stops faster than it is! LOL Video cameras were painfully slow 30 years ago. f2 @2000 lux! Stephen
Ashim
But Stephen, What I wanna know is what is the reason for calibrating them at 89.9% reflectance and why can it not be graded like film at 18% gray? And what do u mean by they are two stops faster? Thanx

Thanx Hi, Spot meter reading on 18% grey F4 on 89.9% would be F8+! 30 years ago 2000 lux 18% grey would have been F1.00 or faster. 8000 lux 18% grey F2 does not sound that cool!
