End Boards

Recommended Posts

Hey

Just wondered how tolerant professionals are with endboards on MOS shots. I'm a student, and today shuffled clapping with cable bashing when we were really pushed for time so I ended up endboarding a few shots. Would that normally piss people off or does nobody really care?

Thanks

I think that (as always), it depends on the situation. If you're clearly stuffed with extra work and can't reasonably be there, then it should be acceptable. On the other hand, if you haven't been working efficiently and that's the cause, then it will be a point of contention. There is nothing inherently "wrong" about endboards, and even are preferred for certain shots, but there is of course the higher risk of cutting before the board.

If you were doing cable bashing and boards, I'd say that's not too uncommon a situation, and you should be able to get front boards - what you might want to do is just gently remind the AD that you're going to rush back to your cable duties after you do the sticks.
