Chris Pritzlaff
I just got back from seeing Night in the Museum. Throughout the first 5 minutes of the film, the color temp kept shifting slightly within the shot every second or two. I was about to walk out and complain that some adjustment needed to be made, but it stopped. Nobody else noticed it, and I was the only one in my group who would notice that sort of thing. What could this have been caused by? I know it is not part of the film as it was the second time I have seen the film and it did not occur the first time. Chris Fernando
Sounds like a mis-timed release print, Chris - i.e. a bad set of printer lights being used (on a section of that particular reel) at the I.N. to release print stage; that somehow got past QC at the lab. Assuming of course it was a print.
Jonathan Bowerbank
It happens sometimes with faulty print stock as well. I've gotten rushes back sometimes where they usually use some cheaper Fuji print stock and it's happened. You probably should have told the theatre manager, if it's an IMAX showing of the film I'm sure they'd order a new copy.
