Premium Member Tony Brown Posted August 14, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted August 14, 2004 I've struggled recently to get 5248 in France, Argentina and Turkey. Kodak however assured me there is no intention to phase it out. Just shot in California, ordered 70 rolls of 48. Kodak took the order, told the production company it would be no problem. When the collection was organised Kodak (LA) said they could only supply 49 rolls. Brilliant.
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted August 16, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2004 To err is human, to forgive, Divine. ;) Sorry to hear all the film was not on hand. I assume when they checked inventory, the computerized inventory system indicated at least 70 rolls were in stock. Obviously, something got missed. Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted August 27, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted August 27, 2004 At least Kodak makes the effort to keep both the older and latest generations of film on the market, giving cinematographers greater choice. We try to have enough of the older films stocked where there is known demand, but since the sales volumes are less, sometimes the "supply chain" is inadequate, and we need to scramble to get the film from elsewhere. In this case, we needed to improve.
