FIRST TIME HI-DEF

soon i will be shooting my 3rd and final short as a student. i had been given a budget and am thinking about going hi-def. i need to know a lot about it as in:

> which cam to hire?

> where can i hire cheapest?

> what is the media these cameras record on?

> is it uncompressed 4:4:4?

> whats the difference between a DVCAM and HDV

> whats the difference between a varicamand hvx200

 

all that and anything else that i need to know. coz i don wanna end up making a fool of myself if midway/post-production we realize we goofed up.

 

reason i am going for a hi-def over 16mm is that i need freedom in the amount of footage i can shoot.

 

hope i am right in assuming that.
