Okay, basic question...

What is the most common type of lighting used in film? Is it incandescent, fluorescent, HID, quartz or something else?

Thank you all.

Standard practice:

NIGHT INT- Tungsten (incandescent)

DAY EXT- HMI (mercurymedium arc iodide)

DAY INT- HMI w/ Tungsten suppliment

NIGHT EXT- HMI and Tungsten

So the answer is: It depends on what you are doing. Again these are generalizations that of course can be altered.

I figured the type of light might vary depending on what you shoot.
