Intimate Strangers

Has anyone else seen this? It?s French film shot by Eduardo Serra with quite a bit of handheld work. Unlike The Bourne Supremacy, which I guess I found much less grating than most people, the camera didn?t scream HANDHELD. For the most part it was very restrained and subtle. There were a few key handheld moments with very careful and deliberate framing (I had almost come to believe that this had become a lost art). It was all very refreshing after seeing so many recent films with ultra-shaky handheld shots and superfluous zooms.

I was also quite impressed with the lighting as well. A good deal of the film takes place in one room, the office of a tax attorney, and the lighting for each scene finely reflected the mood while remaining very natural looking.

I didn?t catch it in the credits but I was told director Patrice Leconte was the camera op. Does anyone know if this is true?
