DOF Tables

Recommended Posts

I have seen a lot of people talk about how they have downloaded DOF tables. I tried searching for some specific to the lenses we use at school but couldn't find any... was just wondering if anyone had a good place to look. We use Zeiss Super Speed 35mm Primes with Arri PL mount on an Arri SRII Super 16mm. I am assuming they are the MKII series but not sure. Thanks everyone.

I know this list is absymally long, but I'm thinking that if we compile a list put it into the FAQ, it might be a good resource for AC's, especially since I'm sure many of us will have experience in some formats, but not others. I was also thinking about using the DoF calculator on the Panavision site to compile a small handbook that could fit in my back pocket -- much cheaper than a Samcine, multiple Kelly Wheels, or a Palm Pilot with PCine. Does anyone else think this is a god idea?

Thanks!

Hi Just read the comments re DoF tables. I carry a PalmPilot on set with me. I have downloaded a free version of 'DoFmaster' which is a handy software for calculating DoF. You can reset the circle of confusion as well as select any lens you wish. It comes with preset film gauge as well as an 'other'. I have found it very handy.

Cheers, Alain.
