First Time Filmmaker Needing D.O.P.: Shoot is Feb 9th-11th

Recommended Posts

Hello Folks,

My name's Justin Jones. I'm a new filmmaker and new to the forum (first post).

I've just completed my first screenplay for a five-minute short that will be shooting next weekend. I am in desperate need of a cinematographer. Unfortunately I have no budget to pay anyone, but meals and a fun, friendly environment will be provided. I will be using a Sony High Definition Mini DV Camcorder. I would greatly appreciate all the help you might be able to offer. Below is my casting notice.

Thank You,

Justin D. Jones

Hey, Justin. I'd hardly hazard to call myself a DP- that's a distinction for folks with a lot more experience - but if you need someone who can run camera, setup shots, and has his own (video) equipment; and are willing to work with someone else pretty new to the game, I'd like to talk to you. I live in Dallas as well, so that's easy. Just post back here or send me a message through the boards.

Hey Chris,

I definitely want to talk to you. I'd be more than happy to work with someone new to the game. This is the same boat I'm in. If you will email me we can exchange numbers and go from there. By the way Chris, this project is rather time-sensitive as it is for "On The Lot". I have to shoot it from the 9th - 11th or sooner to give time for editing and finalization. My deadline is Feb-16th. I hate to have such a finite and cramped work time but for this contest I have no choice. Look forward to talking with you.

Thanks,

JJ

Yes I sure am, Zamir. I'm going to try anyway.
