Matthew Buick
I've never used painted backdrops (I can't paint :( ) but I don't think they'll look realistic in any format.
Premium Member Kevin Masuda Posted February 6, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 6, 2007 In "The Proposition," they used a painted sunset backdrop in one scene and it looked amazing. In order to make it close to the real thing you have to not only have a talented artist to paint the background but you have to light it just right, which takes time and effort.
