I've just seen a film called "The 9th Battalion" on IMDB 9-ya Rota, it was shot in russia.

Does anyone know what cameras/lenses they used to shoot this.

I don't believe it was shot on Kinors. but I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance.

This is a some curiously, to discuss of russian films between russians on english.

Great film.

You can see many informations about film "The 9th battalion " of Fedor Bondarshuk on the Internet.

The russian site : aport.ru can show many information.

I think, Fedor not use Kinor's cameras for shooting.

The all russian filmakers ( big budger projects ) use Arri cameras.

I don't have detailed information about equipments, but, i think, this can be Carl Zeiss or Elite Optics or any other modern lenses.

I think, the colleagues from Moskov can tell more detailed about equiment.

But, my personal opinion. You not ask of any writer, what type of pens he use.

That's why, need study of art sides of film. If the budget have good volume, you can use modern equipments, if not, you can use low cost equipments.

For note.

The ukrainian prize-winner of Cannes festival at 2005 Igor STREMBITSKYY, short film PODOROZHNI (WAYFARERS), ,UKRAINE,

to use of Konvas-2m for shooting of footages.
