Curtis Bouvier
That little scope like glass that directors or cinematographers use to prevew a scene with out actually bringing the camera to that location, guess it gives them an idea as to how things look.. where can I get one of these? Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted March 22, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted March 22, 2007 Director's finders. You might need to take off your sunglasses, Curtis, to look through one. http://directorsviewfinders.com/ As opposed to a lens finder, which allows you to attach the movie camera's lens and look through it. Usually you have those on the set, not in preproduction scouting (unless the DP owns a case of 35mm cine lenses that he wants to drag around...) Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted March 22, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted March 22, 2007 The director's finder is often nicknamed a "chewie" (sp?), for some reason.

Hi, personally can't justify the expense so i use a Bolex viewer, the kind that has an adjustable view from 10 to 150mm. The aspect ration is the same as what i shoot with. cheers
