Where do I put up listing to find a DP?

I'm producing an eight minute promo trailer for a feature to be shot in Los Angeles. The plan is to shoot the thing in HD and our budget calls for something along the lines of the XL-H1 as a camera.

 

We're talking four to six days over three weekends with one of the days shooting B-roll in a nightclub while it's operating. This will be a skelleton crew.

 

The ideal situation would be to get a DP and his kit together. We have a small budget (approx. $500/day for this piece of the pie).

 

I see there's a job section on this site, but it doesn't seem to have a lot of traffic.

 

So my questions are:

 

1. Is that a realistic budget to secure a decent green DP with skills and a kit?

 

2. If it is, where do I put up a listing (other than this site) to find him/her and get some reel submissions?

Try craigslist.com. go to the california section and under film/Telivision/Radio jobs post your job listing

Im sure you'll get alot of replies.

I myself prefer 300 a day for anthing longer than 12 hours on set. But I usually negotiate if its not in the budget.

If I were you I'd put an ad on Mandy.com It's a good resource for crew. But if you include an email or url on this thread you will probably get a few responses just from this.
