Ian Heggen
I have a quick question about how much recording time one would expect with a 50' magazine. On Alan Gordon I read 75 seconds with 24fps, which seemed pretty short to me.
Nick Mulder
Nope, thats about right ... http://www.panavision.co.nz/main/kbase/ref...calcfootage.asp theres always the top and tail that will be unused/exposed (tail exposed if you unload in light, at the very min a foot and a half unused due to threading and thats in the dark also) - the smaller the load the higher the % is taken up with unusable film
Corey Bringas
I got about 83.3 seconds http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/filmCalculator.html :-D
Nick Mulder
I got about 83.3 seconds http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/filmCalculator.html :-D Yeh, thats what youd get if you could get every frame exposed correctly. Both calcs give that answer, but its not the reality of the physical situation of a 50' loaded daylight reel - 75 seconds is a pretty good 'safety' figure considering what I have already outlined...
