Premium Member Frank Barrera Posted April 23, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted April 23, 2007 hello everybody i'm looking for the depth of field chart of this series if anybody knows where i can find it it will be great thanks Any edition of the American Cinematographer Manual will have a depth of field chart. Keep in mind that the format doesn't effect the depth of field of your lens. The format effects the field of view. Say a "normal" field of view is about 40 degrees. You would need a 35MM lens in the 35MM format; a 17MM in the S16 format; or a 12MM in the 2/3" format to get a 40 degree field of view. So if you are using a 12MM lens in the 2/3" format you will look up your f stop in the All Formats Depth of Field Table under 12MM.
Patrick Lavalley
The public library usually has a copy of the American Cinematographers manual, if you want to do it on the cheap, just photocopy what you need.
