Nate Downes
Seeing the way these cameras are going, I often wonder if companies are overthinking a problem. I've never used a HD camera, but from the descriptions, they all read like overkill, focusing more on issues like cables rather than the real issues of getting maximum return on investment. In my experience, these high-end cameras are very risky for any company to utilize, as they become obsolete too quickly to gain enough ROI to validate the migration. And it is looking as if things are getting riskier, after all the Genesis is only a 12MP, how long before someone else makes a camera with the new 22MP sensors out there? And we've not even gotten to the point that we can record the full data from the 12MP sensors. It's absolutely mind boggling to me. I'd rather have a 4MP system that I could get maximum use out of than a 12MP system that is hobbled by not being able to use the sensor to its maximum. Michel Hafner
So, how did the screening of the footage at Montreal 2 days ago go down? Who won, the film or the CCD sensor? :) Michel Hafner www.imdb.com
