experiences with how HVX handles blacks?

we have decided that our desired level of quality is

definitely NOT ever going to be the DVX100 ever

again. We've been considering the HVX; however,

I've heard that HVX doesn't handle blacks very

well either.

Experiences/opinions on black handling on the

HVX compared to other 24p HD cameras?

I just shot a horror short (i.e. lots of black), with the bpress setting that Tim mentions, and I'm quite happy with the look. It is very clean and quite a bit less noisy than I expected.

There's a bit in my reel at www.rit.edu/~cdk8380

The handheld shots with the 2 guys outdoors and the blood-spraying shot are from that movie w/ the HVX.

Changing the Master Pedestal subtly can also effect how crisp your blacks are. Be careful not to get crazy with it though as it does effect the whole image, just a step or two to tweak I would say.
