Workflow Question - Mixed formats (24pA and film) to film-out

Okay, I've searched forums and wikipedia and I'm still confused on this 24pA thing.

 

I am editing a project of mixed media (720, 24pA and 16mm transferred to DVCAM). This will be going back to film.

 

Questions:

What capture settings should I use (DV NTSC, DV NTSC 2:3:3:2)?

If I capture without a capture card (firewire) will I lose quality in 720p? (firewire vs. HDMI vs SDMI)

What should my timeline be set at (24, 23.987...)

 

Because of the volume of footage coming in, I need to get things right now instead of later. These are probably very simple answers, but I've just had it to ^ here with 2:3:3:2 pull downs.
