accelerating your frame rates, need some tips.

I'm getting ready to shoot my debute short feature this summer, I had a few questions about accelerating the regulator on these cameras. (Arri SR1 and or SR3)

We have about 5 scenes where we need to have the motion slow right down from real time to a complete stop. I know this can be done with fancy after effects plug ins, but I'd rather do it with the camera if possible for a more natural look.

I have a K3 primarily for learning on, and I noticed the circular FPS dial can be adjusted while the camera is running. my only concern is you probably have to adjust the iris inside the lense to allow more light as the shutter speed increases as you increase the frame rate.

Has anybody done this before? My guess is that you would just open the iris simutaneously as you increase the frame rate.

I will be filming with either the SR1 or SR3, that I havn't decided yet.

I saw some 1920x1080 footage from standard 16mm and I was amazed by the quality so I might not need to spend the extra money on an SR3 for super16mm. altho it would be nice hehe.

let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance.
