Robert Hughes
I saw the last 20 minutes of Hostel II and was rather disappointed by the look. Overly grainy, soft focus and lacking in highlights. IMDB says it was 35mm negative, so what is the cause of this - a bad print transfer? The wild Hungarian dance music at the closing credits was worth the wait. The wild Hungarian dance music at the closing credits was worth the wait. So you are saying S16mm is always or usually overly grainy and lacking in highlights? (what do you mean by lacking in highlights anyway?) Im just curious. Maybe Im a little bias here ;) ..but some of my favorite photography has come from S16 movies lately, or at least since Leaving LasVegas. Just curious!
