Gunnar Mortensen
Optics and Focus for Camera Assistants, Art, Science and Zen by Fritz Hershey. This has been out of print for a while, but I am actively looking for it. Has anyone read and recommend me to continue my search? Lets just say I have some unexpected free time that I would at least like to imagine that I am working. Anyone in LA want to go out and guess distances? only fun for AC's and about all I can afford to do for now.
Jonathan Bowerbank
There was another thread recently about this book. I guess it delves a bit too much into the "zen" aspect of AC'ing. Giving hints on what to eat on set and stuff like that. The best book is "Camera Assistant's Manual" by David Elkins.
Gunnar Mortensen
I have and read that==> followed by Doug Harts great book==>then the Panavision book; I am looking to continue my search. I know learn by doing, but call me obsessive with this free time I can cram in some more theory.

Send me the link if I am beating a horse to death. Also if someone has a copy they can part with I would love to snag one up.
