"Audio Record Error", has anyone else experienced?

I am working on a short with a RED this week. This afternoon, we encountered a really annoying problem. The LCD would display a message to the effect of "Audio Record Error" and the whole system would lock up, requiring a reboot to get back to work. We were fighting sunlight and didn't have time to troubleshoot so I just disabled all audio inputs and we went without on-camera sound for the last few setups.

 

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have no idea how to fix it. I searched a bit at REDuser but to no avail. it could easily be that I missed something, though. Searching that forum is like looking for a particular stone on the beach.
