Shoot Regular 16mm on a magnetic sound camera

A quick question,

Is it doable, to shoot just regular 16mm stock on a camera that does magnetic sound recording? I'm assuming the perfs are the same, and if you don't have sound it's just ignored. But I haven't dealt with sound cameras before, so I don't know.

You should be able to, that is how CP16 used to be as well as earlier Auricon cameras. Unless it is a weird camera, it should work. I haven't used an Auricon, but I have used CP16 cameras to great non-sound results! Just gotta get the right side perf film to work on the gears, or double perf for regular 16, and you are good.
