firelight on tungsten film

Recommended Posts

i am lighting a scene with HMIs which will have a quarter or half CTB added to them. i will be shooting without the 85 filter. there will be two torches in the scene. what color will the firelight show up as under these conditions?

Fire still looks orange even in daylight, right? Without the 85 filter you've biased the film toward blue, but not enough to render flames as "white." The actual color of the flame will depend on the intensity. The bigger the flame the "whiter" it will get; a low flame that's not too overexposed will have the most saturation.
