216 and 250 lee diffussion etc

Can anyone tell me the difference between all the filters. How much light do you loose? What is the type of diffussion you get from them? If im using 216 on a wide. what would i use for a cu?

The 216 is less translucent than the half. The reason for the difference is that in some situations you might want your light to be diffused less than others. You would not need to change filters for close ups compared to wide shots. Once you set up a light for a shot, you stick with what you start with for the most part. Why you might have both is because you may find you need a light to be less diffused in a particualr shot than it might be ocmpared to another. For the most part 216 will be all you need if it came to the two.
