David Erlichman
Following up on Tim O'C's post, does anyone know of a metal working magzine ala "Fine Home / Woodworking"? I've found the odd forum on the web but would prefer something on paper... any suggestions?

I think they went the way of the dodo. Please let me know if you find them. I have been "teaching myself" for the last couple years. there are a couple good books, and a couple descent websites. Warwick Hempleman
A great basic reference is "Machine Shop Essentials" from the Metal Arts Press in Huntington Beach, Ca. It's a kind of Metal Work for Dummies, but also has a lot of practical tips to speed up the work day.
