Premium Member Jay Young Posted August 5, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted August 5, 2008 http://vimeo.com/user649931/videos Please check out these two videos. They are short (about 30 seconds total). The first video is a composition trial with full croppage. The second, HV20 + some cheep wide angle test lens taped onto the camera (don't ask). Both images were cropped from the original 16:9, 21% top and bottom. You could say I eyeballed it. The reason I tried a wide angle is to get more coverage and so I could be closer to the subject. When you cut 42% of your picture out, composition gets difficult. I also made a matte to place over my view finder for help in composition. Perhaps 42% is too much crop, I don't know. Let me know what you think, and which you like better. Version one: HV20 + crop Version two: HV20 + Wide angle + Crop. P.S. I didn't worry about the quality of the shots, only the composition.
