Guest kubrifog
I am shooting a 16mm film on a ARRI BL using kodack vision 320/ 7277 color film. I am shooting in a studio that has really awkward angles. I plan on shooting it in the corner of the room, but i want the charachters to seem as though they were in a completely white seemless space. WHat would be the best way to achive this?? the actors are in black dancing leotards if that makes a difference....

Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted November 10, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted November 10, 2004 If you want to blow out the whites, then why are you using a low-contrast stock like '77? You'd want to at least begin by using a normal contrast stock -- the last thing you want is extended latitude if you're trying to lose detail in the bright highlights. A skip-bleach process done to the negative will help burn up your highlights, but you will also get a lot of grain as well. Another option is to shoot in E6 Ektachrome ('85), which will have less latitude in the highlights.
