This is the guy from some other internet forum that's been working on this for a while. It's been mentioned here off hand in the past by those looking for HD for less than $40 a day.

 

As an editor I'm not sure that the post workflow would be anything approaching pretty.

 

Nevertheless it is without a doubt interesting.

It sounds like a storage nightmare, but still, very intriguing.

Due to the nearing HD front, I don't think manufacturers will be picking up this technology any time soon. Simply because the only way to keep the dvx100a mobile is to have tape, and that tape will simply not run at anything other than dv25. It's a great idea if there aren't any other options, but realistically speaking, there are.
