trying to identify lens type for konvas camera

Hello,

I'm kind of new to lenses so I'm trying to identify what this lens is.

Is this a 35mm lens?

The markings read: OKC11-35-1 890241

f-stop #s are 2.3-16

focal distances 1-10 then infinity

so ok, could anyone tell me which company made this lens? the company name does not appear on it

just 52mm UV Japan

is it a lomo lens?

I've heard the terminology OCT-18 OCT-19 and PL, would this lens fall under any of those categories?

I don't know what those mean.

How much does a lens of this type usually sell for?

Here are some pictures of the lens:

That's a Lomo OCT-18 mount 35mm lens, 52mm UV Japan probably refers to a UV filter size, yes it is for a 35mm format, the camera you show it with is a Konvas 1M turret model the the 15EPSS stabilized motor. The OCT-18 was the lens mount used on the Konvas turret cameras, the OCT-19 was used on the Konvas 2M and Kinor 35mm cameras. Lomo is a Russian lens manufacturer and this looks like a newer Lomo made in the late 70s or later because it is black and slicker looking than the older all nickel lenses like I have. This is a "mouse eared Lomo. They are very good lenses. As for the price, hard to say, maybe a couple of hundred dollars in good condition if you can find one. The OCT-19 lenses are more popular because of the ease with which they can be converted to a PL mount and used on RED cameras which has driven the price through the roof to the dismay of all us Commiecam enthusiasts.

Kevin, LOMO lenses have similar pattern of naming. Basic pattern is 35OKS1-50-2.

First digits designate film format (16 or 35mm). May be missing.

OKS means 'cine lens' in Russian avvreviation.

Next number states lens model. Larger number means newer and better lens usually.

Next number means focal length (35mm in your case, or 50mm in my example).

Last digit shows variation of the lens model.

As to manufacturing year, let me correct James. This year designated by first 2 digits of the serial number. In your case of #890241, you have 241-st lens made in 1989. So, james is right that it is goodd and relatively new lens manufactured only few years befor production has been stopped.

As to price of these lenses, this question is actually hard to answer due to RED mania mentioned by James. We tried to make oct-18 adapters of Letus and RedRock Micro M2. Redrock can't be made. Letus will be made, most probably, when my tech reciver from a flu. I would like to try to make adapter for RED, but no one sent me a reference mount yet, so I'm still seeking a way to get technical specification of their flange to see if we can make oct-18 to RED adapter. I we do, price of oct-18 lenses will raise quickly as it was with OCT-19 lenses, because both oct-18 and oct-19 lenses have similar optical blocks (and quality therefore), and only reason of their lower price is their inconvenient mount system.
