Evan Andrew John Prosofsky
Hi everybody. I've just started out doing some freelance video work for various companies, normally I don't have a problem giving them the final edit. I scale my red footage to SD and put it on a mini dv tape and my clients are always happy with the result. I started to realize though, what if a client wants the footage in HD? Or even 4k?? What do you pros do to deliver footage. I have a job coming up where I will need to send about 40 minutes of 720p footage to an editing company. How is this done in the industry? Please give me some insight and help! Thankyou everyone in advance!
Premium Member Kevin Zanit Posted September 23, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted September 23, 2008 There are several ways, but it usually comes down to however they want it delivered. Some places just want it on a hard drive some want it on video tape, some want it on data tape. Just know what methods you are equipped to deliver and present those options to them and go from there. Scott Fritzshall
Ask them! If they need it on a particular tape format, you're probably going to have to price in the cost of renting a deck. If they want it in a data format, price in an external hard drive and just hand them the files on that.
