Brandon Hyde
Hey guys. I know this topic has probably been covered sometime in the past but I can't find it. I am shooting a short film. It's supposed to take place in the dead of night in the woods. I have done day for night shooting before but it didn't turn out all that great. I have more experience and a better camera now. I have a Canon XH A1 HDV Camera. I have access to as many lights as I need, but none are even that strong. I think the strongest I can get is a 650. So, it seems as if actually shooting at night is out of the question. It's somewhat of a thriller/suspense type movie. Are there any suggestions to make this look realistic enough I can get the audience to jump and not laugh? Thanks!
Nate Downes
You should be fine shooting at night with those lights if you limit your lighting scope. No football fields.
