Lights Turning On & Off In Sequence & Making Bulbs Explode

I had posted this on a Theater forum and the determination was to buy a sequencer used in audio / visual racks. To simulate the lights turning on in a sequence you see in like The Green Mile and other movies. Where they either all turn on in a sequence with that loud clank or turn off.

 

The second part to this question is how does one make the bulbs explode is that more of a physical thing done to the bulb or some type of charge put in the fixture.

That's usually a tiny charge put on the fixture. You can also do it by putting icewater on a hot bulb, but that is harder to hide from the camera than a tiny explosive.

You know a real simple low tech way of doing this might be to use a BB or pellet gun to shoot them out one at a time.

That's a great idea, assuming a whole bunch don't have to go at the same time.

 

As for turning light on and off, that's just a matter of wiring them all on circuits the way you want them. The sounds can be added in post.
