Rolfe Klement
and a red hair light. And loads of negative fill. And a wonderful make up artist and a great model Been working hard on the beauty shots recently Below is a shot of the studio equipment we had. I built a 6x6 light and a ring light for this shoot and hardly used them. Tell me what you think! thanks Rolfe
Daniel Madsen
It is really very good and I like the combination of hard and soft light. Though I'm not sure whether I would have put the hot spot on her nose, maybe on an eye. Do you have anything a little bit wider? I think there is more of a challenge in mid and wide beauty shots than close ups. Edited November 16, 2008 by Daniel Madsen
Premium Member Chris Keth Posted November 16, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 16, 2008 I was thinking something similar to Daniel. I wonder what it would look like if the spot were centered half between an eye and the tip of her nose. Either way, it's a beautiful way to light her. Like the last time, compliment the makeup artist.
Rolfe Klement
I need to figure out a good "kirk light" Any ideas? This is the light effect I got on the nose but needs a wider shape and softer edges thanks Rolfe
Nadav Hekselman
I Actually like the light hitting the nose. because it's such a big close up it creates a strong tension with the eyes which is more dramatic and less cheesy or predictable than just hitting the eyes. I do think a softer shadow would have been nicer. very nice .
Premium Member Chris Keth Posted November 17, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 17, 2008 Perhaps you can try the flashlight with some diff. on the front. You can cut a hole out of the diff to whatever shape and size you want?
