Bart Smith
Hi, Does anyone recognise this model of Director's finder? I'm trying to work out which companies rebadge/rebrand this type in the USA or the UK etc.

Bart Smith
Hi Olex, Are they any good? As far as I recall they have a reputation for being pretty inaccurate, is that your experience? Bart
Premium Member Paul Bruening Posted November 26, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 26, 2008 I've got one. It's useful when your groping around for staging and angle ideas. It's not really precise enough for composing frames. When I say this I mean that if you've got a crowded frame or when you have to absolutely control the edges, you can't dependably make those kinds of decisions with it. But, I think you can reasonably place a camera for most shots using it. It's a lot cheaper than other finders. It's no good at all for figuring out depth of field, distortion, focus shifts and all that lens specific stuff.
