Arnaud Marchand Saint Mart
Hi there, Brand new to the forum here is my first topic hope it will get a lot of answers and so on a warm welcome. I'll be shooting with the HVX200 + the RedRock M2. I'll be using some Nikon lenses : 24 mm/2 - 35 mm/1.4 - 55 mm/1.2 - 85 mm/2 - 105 mm/2.5 - 300 mm / 3.5 As i'll be scooting the locations with the director and my Nikon digital stills camera i was wondering how can i match the lenses from the set and the one of my digital camera ? I mean, for example when you're shooting 35mm and your scooting with a Still Camera, you know that a 30mm lens on 24x36 format is a 25mm lens in 35mm format, roughly. I know that the HVX is mounted with a 1/3of inch captor and i also know that it's matter of format but also of frame size : 1.85, 2.35... Anyway, if anyone got a idea, even a wierd mathematic trick, i will be pleased. Cheers.
Mike Rizos
Try this angle of view calculator. http://www.canon.com/bctv/calculator/calculator1.html A 30mm lens for still(24x36mm) has 71.6 diagonal angle of view. To match that angle of view in 35mm movie (16x22mm), you need a 19mm lens.
