Lighting a school hallway?

Hi, I have a project where Im using a steadicam and XL2 to create a long take, and my long take takes place in a school where everyone has disappeared and its going to follow him walking down a hallway. I usually direct so Im not used to lighting scenes myself? any suggestions?

The hallway is pretty thin, and also Im only allowed to shoot with one of the rooms in the hallway and the hallway. So all of the other classrooms are off limits? what should I do?

All the actor is doing in the scene is lurking towards a door at the end of the hall?

All help is appreciated.

A quick and easy place to start from is to see what you can do with the lights that are already there. See if you can either change out the bulbs with a different wattage or leave some out entirely, depending on the look you are going for. If it is a drop ceiling you may be able to remove some panels and rig lights up in the ceiling, depending on your needs.
